Dr. Lynn Comella, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Women’s Studies and Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Her research and teaching interests include media and culture, gender and sexuality, and popular entertainment and consumer culture. Her research explores the intersection of feminist sexual politics and marketplace culture, with a focus on the women’s market for sex toys and pornography. Her work has appeared in Sex for Sale: Prostitution, Pornography, and the Sex Industry, Commodity Activism: Cultural Resistance in Neoliberal Times, and New Sociologies of Sex Work, among other places. She’s a frequent media contributor, and writes a regular column on sexuality and culture for Las Vegas Weekly.
